How
to Access Google in China (& All Google Services) :
1. Access the Internet in China -
Via Wi-Fi.
Via a China SIM card: Although
a bit time consuming, it’s not difficult for a foreigner to get a local
SIM card to access the internet via any unlocked phone. You’ll need
your passport to register the number but monthly service can be
unbelievably cheap. In some major airports (Beijing, Shanghai) you’ll find
kiosks where you
can purchase a China SIM card. Otherwise, you’ll have to go to a
China Telecom, China Unicom or China Mobile store to purchase.
Via a Rented China
Phone: Of course, if you want to eliminate all the hassle of the
above options, you can also consider renting
a phone in China. There are services that will mail you a phone to
your home that will work the moment you land in China. You can rent cheap
Android phones or nicer Apple iPhones.
2. Connect to a VPN (Virtual Private Network)
3. Log on to Google in China!

The Spanish government has had 61 women as ministers throughout history.
Only one woman, Federica

period, becoming one of the first female ministers in the whole Europe. The
second government of José
Luis Rodríguez Zapatero (PSOE) was the first to achieve full
equality, with the same number of male and female ministers.[1] The
current government of Pedro

ministers, with 14, whilst his first government became the first one to have
more women than men.[2]

The six sides won seven matches between them and drew one,
to give an average of 3.67 points per team. That’s better than in the group
stages of the 2002 and 2010 tournaments when Asian sides achieved an average
of 3.5 points per team.

MTR Corporation maintained a world-class level of 99.99% punctuality rate
on its Hong Kong metro services in the first eight months of 2016, despite
the system being one of the busiest in the world.
From January to March 2017, New York City MTA’s subway system has an
average punctuality rate of just over 63 percent.
In 2017, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo declared a state of emergency for
the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) due to ongoing reliability
and crowding problems with mass transit in New York City. This order
applied particularly to the New York City Subway, which was the most
severely affected by dilapidated infrastructure, causing overcrowding and
delays. With many parts of the system approaching or exceeding 100 years
of age, general deterioration could be seen in many subway stations. By
2017, only 65% of weekday trains reached their destinations on time, the
lowest rate since a transit crisis in the 1970s. To a lesser extent, New
York City buses operated by the MTA were also affected. Both the subway
and the buses are run by the New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA), a
subsidiary of the MTA. A separate crisis at Penn Station affected the
routes of the three railroad agencies that provided service into the
station. Media outlets deemed these crises "the summer of hell".

Asia. The European Goldfinch has been introduced to other areas, such as
southern Australia, New Zealand, and even the US. About 100 years ago these
birds were established on Long Island, but
those colonies died out and now they’re considered rare in North America. In
recent years, there have been many sightings of them in the Mid-West where
they are believed to be nesting. They are hardy birds and able to withstand
cold winters. Like their American cousins, these little birds like sunflower
and nyjer seed, so you may be able to keep this visitor around for a

Gregarious / Social - House Sparrow: during all seasons when feeding,
often forming flocks with other species of birds. It roosts communally
and while breeding nests are usually grouped together in clumps. House
sparrows also engage in social activities such as dust or
water bathing and "social singing", in which birds call together in bushes.
Starling: The starlings are generally a highly
social family. Most species associate in flocks of varying sizes throughout
the year. Murmuration describes the flocking of
starlings, including the swarm
behaviour of their large flight formations. These flocks may
include other species of starlings and sometimes species from other
families. This sociality is particularly evident in their roosting
behaviour; in the non-breeding season some roosts can number in the
thousands of birds Rock Dove: Pigeons are often found in pairs in the
breeding season, but are usually gregarious. Cedar waxwings are sociable, seen in flocks year
round.[6] They
are non-territorial birds and "will often groom each other." Common Grackles are highly social, migrating,
wintering, and roosting in large flocks, often mixed with other species
including the Red-winged Blackbird, Brown-headed
Cowbird, and European Starling. Wintering
flocks may be especially large, sometimes numbering over a million birds!
Ground Forager Brown-headed Cowbirds usually
forage on the ground in mixed flocks of blackbirds, grackles, and
starlings. Males gather in groups or sing alone to attract the females
during mating season.
While many birds practice flocking behaviors, not all of them do. Some
birds permanently live in flocks while others congregate for specific
events like breeding season. Commonly known birds that flock in a
V-shape pattern include pelicans, geese, ibises, storks and waterfowl.
Birds that form larger flocks include:
blackbirds
starlings
shorebirds
robins
flamingos
cranes
pigeons

previous record of -41 degrees set in 1983. src
Bozeman, Montana, broke a daily record low Tuesday morning,

daily record, at -35 degrees. src
The temperature in Lincoln, Montana also set a daily low at -49

to an astounding -72 degrees on Tuesday. src

WHAT
TO WATCH FOR
With
wind chillsdroppinginto
the -50s in North Dakota and South Dakota, the National Weather Servicewarnedof
“life-threatening cold” continuing through Saturday. The NWS also warnedwind
gustscould top 40 mph, in eastern and central
states in the coming days, with some areas exceeding 60 mph, likely
causing power outages while heavy snowfall in the Midwest and Great Lakes
regions could bring white-out conditions. src
News source from Australia (December 23, 2022 - 6:07AM Australian time):
*Forecasting*
On Christmas Eve, usually reliably toasty US winter
destinations – like Florida and Texas – will be literally freezing.
Orlando could fall to -1C on December 24 which would lead to
its coldest Christmas in 50 years. [Fact check: inaccurate! Should
say in 40 years because 1983 is the coldest Christmas Day.]
Normally sultry New Orleans is looking at -2C and humid
Houston will fall to -3C.
El Paso, a city built in a desert, could see a low of -6C on
Friday. Snow has already been reported as falling in parts of Texas.
*Forecasting*
Low temperatures Sunday morning are expected in the 30s across North and
CentralFlorida,
with high temperatures only managing to claw their way into the 50s.
For several towns and cities in Florida and the Southeast, it will likely
be one of the coldest – if not the all-time coldest – Christmas Days on
record, threatening the records set during the chilly Christmases of 1989
and 1983.
Orlando: Looking back at our records for Christmas Day, it could be one of
the coldest Christmas Days since 1983 when our high only reached 36 degrees.
That [means the 12/25/1983] is also the coldest Christmas on record in
Orlando. src
With an expected high of 50 on Sunday, it would rank in the top-10 coldest
Christmas Days and the coldest since the 1989 arctic outbreak.
The high temperature on Christmas Day in 1983 only reached 36 degrees in
Orlando, after a morning low of 21 tied for the coldest day on record for
any date.
This
winter storm has ushered in a polar plunge with wind chill alerts in 37 of
the lower 48 states. Wind chill warnings stretch more than 200 miles from
Washington state to Florida.
Wave

Significant
wave heights beyond 20 feet will crank along all of the Great Lakes,

Temperature
records
All
Time Low-Temperature Record: -42°F (Casper, Wyoming). The wind chill was
-76°F…the
air is extremely dry.It won’t get *that* cold in
New England, but we are forecasting wind chill temperatures below zero on
Saturday morning.
When
the wind chill hits –100°F
There
are only three times in U.S. records that the wind chill on the currently
used scale appears to have hit -100°F. On January 16, 2004, New
Hampshire’s Mount Washington Observatory, notorious for its harsh winter
conditions, recorded a temperature of -41.8 degrees and a wind of 87.4
mph, leading to a wind chill of -102.6°F.
“It
is unlikely that a lower wind chill has been measured at a long-term
station in the U.S.,” says climatologist Brian Brettschneider, whocoveredU.S.
and Canadian wind chill records in a blog post.
An
automated weather station at Howard Pass, Alaska, recorded a temperature
of -47.5°F with sustained winds of 53.7 mph at 10 p.m. on February 21,
2013. The resulting wind chill would have been minus -99.8°F. However, the
winds were measured at a height of 10 feet, rather than the standard 33
feet, so the actual wind chill was more likely minus -105°F, according to
Brettschneider.
Looking
beyond such remote outposts, the lowest wind chill confirmed at a U.S.
town or city (adjusting for the currently used wind chill scale) is -100°Fat
McGrath, Alaska, at 6 am AKST on January 27, 1989. The air
temperature was -72°F at the time, and the wind speed was 7 mph. The
extreme cold in McGrath was produced by an air mass that pushed from
Siberia across North America over the next few days, leading to an intense
cold wave in early February 1989 that extendedall
the wayto Mexico City.
Interestingly,
the wind chill of -100°F degrees in McGrath wouldn’t have even qualified
for an NWS wind chill advisory, Brettschneidernoted.
This is because the wind was only 7 mph at the time, and NWS offices in
Alaska do not issue wind chill advisories or warnings unless the wind is
expected to be sustained at 15 mph or more for at least three hours.

(1)
The terrestrial Red Eft (Juvenile Eastern Newt) feeds on earthworms and
arthropods found within leaf litter. Their menu includes mites, fly larvae,
worms, land snails, and slugs. Most of their prey are found in the upper
leaf litter layer, soil surface, or low vegetation. Red Efts sometimes are
found congregating around decaying mushrooms, apparently to take advantage
of the abundant prey attracted to the mushrooms.
